Breckenridge Bike Rentals

As soon as the snow starts to melt, Summit County becomes a biking Mecca, for both mountain and road cyclists. More than 40 miles of paved paths connect Summit County towns, offering everything from relaxing and scenic cruises around Lake Dillon to more grueling climbs up Vail Pass.

Keystone, Breckenridge and Copper Mountain provide lift-serviced mountain bike trail systems. In fact, Keystone Resort's bike park is one of the best in the nation, offering 55 trails with aggressive descents, drops, berms and more for beginner adventures through experts. The free Summit Stage buses have bike racks to take you back to town, in case you tire out.

Every town in Summit County has at least one, and usually multiple, bike shops, where you can rent, buy or get your bike repaired. In fact, Summit County has almost 20 bike rental shops, renting everything from tandem bikes and kids’ trailers to full-suspension bikes and bike path cruisers.

Some, like Rebel Sports and Pioneer Sports in Frisco, throw in a free Vail Pass shuttle ride (offers vary, so check with each shop), which allows you to coast 14 miles downhill without the grueling ride up. Others, like Alpine Sports in Breckenridge, give you a 20% discount if you say you saw the ad in the phone book. Many give out free maps and will be happy to tell you about local Breckenridge bike rails.
